Grid International integrate the third Bosphorus Bridge project

Grid International, a Portuguese engineering company and one of Portugal Steel project partner companies, participated in the project for the implementation of the third Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, Turkey.

The world's longest suspension bridge, linking Europe to Asia and intended to be a symbol of modern Turkey, resulted from an implementation project in partnership with T Engineering (Switzerland) and Greisch (Belgium), following a tender Of design won by Michel Virlogeux and Jean-François Klein.

In charge of the Portuguese engineering company Grid was the design of the concrete tray of the lateral sections and the metallic structure connecting the walls of the top of the masts.

For Rui Reis, a member of the Executive Board of Grid International, "The execution of the Third Bosphorus Bridge was a very rewarding job and a challenge for our company. Not only because of the size, since it is the first bridge in the world to join a motorway with 8 lanes and 2 train lines at the same level, but also because we have companies like T Engineering and Greisch as partners.

The same person in charge reinforces that "To participate in a project of this magnitude, gave us, on the one hand, recognition of reference company in the areas of Structural Engineering and on the other, opened the doors to other projects that are already underway."

With a width of 58 meters, a total length of 2 408 meters and 2 towers with more than 320 meters, the largest suspension and strung bridge in the world represents an investment of 1.3 billion euros.
